My only "complaints" are not all of the names of products and tools used. Such as the squares of something that looked like wax. What is the name of the spoon like tool she rubs across the painting? Is it an iron? Why is it used? So many things that I noticed. I will say on an odd side note are the restorer's fingernails. They're clean and kept well manicured. All in all a fascinating video! I thought at some point a water solution would also be used to wash away grime. Again, well done! I hit like and subscribe because I like this video.

This is one of the most interesting and informative UA-cam channels I follow. My daughter and I have a small business restoring vintage & antique books. We learned so much from a previous video & upped our education & process. This one makes us think bigger. We are of the mind it’s better to preserve & restore rather than buy new. Thank you.

Nice work Ms Emily. For all the people here who are disliking Picasso , I wouldnt hang one on my wall if someone gave me one. However that does not mean that I should criticise what I dont understand. For comparison, I love Jazz music and think that it is clever and exciting, but many people think it sounds awful, due to lack of familiarity and music education.

Well done! Art is not here to be pretty, but to make people think. Different arts speak to different people, and if no art speaks to you at all - well I guess that’s a pity for you and means, you are not thinking 🤷🏻‍♀️ Use your brain before you make yourself a fool in the internet. If you don’t understand something, educate yourself or shut up and leave.

Interesting how each conservator does things differently. Not sure I'd want a restoration done this way once the staple gun came out...

I dont know a lot but i think cleaning old paintings can maybe devalue them

Thank you for this video. Looks like some amateur art critics missed the point that this video is about a restoration and conservation process.

Knowing how this 'art' sells, I'm surprised they dont save and bottle the wash water lol. Could sell it as 'Dirt that was once on a Picasso'

If this was a real watercolour painting, undergoing all those processes, then all that would be left is a blank sheet of paper with perhaps some stains from any staining watercolour pigment used in the painting.

For the art snobs out there that puts us commoners down because we have “modern eyes”doesn’t mean we’re blind. Or because we don’t have an art degree or are artists ourselves. You’d have to be a liar to say the picture looked better after “restoration.” That was a dismal failure in every possible way. Anyone with an honest opinion knows it. As an artist I can tell when someone is over their head. This woman was going through some learned process for the wrong print or lithograph or whatever that piece was. The more it faded it became the more she doubled down. Pathetic.

I see these as conceptual pieces that inform us of Picasso's Process in developing his art. Just as doodling may Spark, an idea for other artists, Picasso may have created these as a way to figure out how to Bring his ideas to fruition. Besides, Picasso is a fixture in the art world who is highly praised and very well known. It's nice to have an insight into his thought process. At any rate, I'm here to watch the artistry of the conservator in restoring these pieces.

Love seeing all this ppl commenting nonsense about the piece. People are so used to traditional styles of art that won't see the beauty of modernism styles such as Cubism, which was meant to represent all faces of an object or person at once in a single space at the same time. I'd really love to watch them paint cubism or abstract drawings so they could see how much of an effort is actually made for a single piece to come as it is, and to see if they could make even a single penny out of their "art". People should really start studying art's history!
